Retired senior ministers who have served large churches have a great deal of wealth, knowledge and insight to give newer ministers.  Current members of SMOLUUC may ask retired ministers to serve in a specific capacity if the retired minister is agreeable.  Because of space limitations, however, the retreat is reserved for ministers currently serving our largest Unitarian Universalist churches. Retired members who take on a specific volunteer role in support of SMOLUUC may remain on the listserve but are not expected to attend the annual retreat.

Retired members are asked to voluntarily remove themselves from the group.

Retired members who later serve a congregation which meets the membership criteria as an interim may attend while actively serving such a congregation.
